Tweets - Short stories

I was all smiley and happy until bam a bomb went off, and turned my room into a jungle

I was on a boat when when a tsunami came, lucky I was wearing a life jacket but my dead body floated to the top

Bella's wand turned her brother into a fish, everything was good but he had no water

My favourite website

YouTube is my favourite website, it is my favourite because it has millions of videos that anyone in the world can watch for free. YouTube has all different kinds of videos, from music videos to episodes of you favourite T.V shows that you've missed. Another reason I like Youtube is you can also make a video and then you can upload it to your channel.

If you wanted to watch a video on YouTube all you do is go onto google, then you search "YouTube" and click on the first website that comes up, once you have done that you click in the search bar on YouTube and search what ever you want and all the videos that are related to that type of video will come up.

As you can see YouTube is really cool and I would recommend this site! I use YouTube a lot, but when I use it I mainly use it to listen to music and watch music videos. Here is what the YouTube logo looks like and a link to Youtube.

Apostrophes

Explain the task of teaching apostrophes yesterday...
Yesterday we did some work on apostrophes. Miss C split half the class into two groups, group one were teachers and group two were students. She put us in these groups based on our GAP analysis test. I was a teacher and my students were Hannah and Storm and I showed them to use apostrophes correctly.

What went well?
I think that Storm and Hannah worked really hard and that I was explaining things clearly and slowly.

What didn't go well?
I don't think we had enough time to get through the contractions.

What were one or two things you realised?
I realised that it helped to write the sentence down on a white board and explaining where to put the apostrophe on the white board instead of explaining it on the work sheet.

Fine 5 online practise links for apostrophes that would be useful for your student.

12 Years a Slave

This movie seems really good! It is an emotional and dramatic drama.
12 years a slave is about a violin player (Solomon Northup) He lives in New York with his loving family, he loves his children and his wife more than anything and they love him even more back!
Solomon was born a free man. Back in these days the white people were rich and the black would get beaten, whipped, and punched.
It was a normal night when Solomon was performing at a violin concert when he got deceived and kidnapped and was shipped away and sold to slavery. He worked on plantations in the state of Louisiana, Every servant that doesn’t obey gets beaten. Solomon agreed to go because he thought they were offering him a better violin job. He was held in slavery for 12 years before he got released. In the 12 years of being held as a slave he would often dream of his wife and he would long to get back to her. Once he got released he went back to New York and was reunited with his family.
I would recommend this film because it is really good and you might even tear up a bit :)
