Miss C has a eye problem

Miss C's conversation with the Dr

Dr Mike: "How are you with morning? Why have you come to see me?"

Miss C: "I have come to see you this morning because I have a bright red blob on my left eye, it doesn't hurt but I don't know how it happened or what to do. I was hoping you could help me."

Dr Mike: "Hmm can I have a look?"

*Dr mike looking at Miss C's eye*

Dr Mike: "It looks like you might have Subconjunctival hemorrhage. This is caused by a small bleed behind the conjunctiva.

Miss C: "Oh, why did this happen? Do I need any treatment?"

Dr Mike: "Well usually no treatment is needed. Aspirin and Ibrufon should be avoided, but please try to avoid touching and rubbing your eye as it can worsen this. If you want I can prescribe Artificial Tears."

Miss C: "Yes please I would like that! I have been sick over the last week, does that have anything to do with my eye problem?"

Dr Mike: "Have you been coughing lately?"

Miss C: "Yes, I have, does this have something to do with this?"

Dr Mike: "Yes, coughing can also have a small part if this condition."

Miss C: "Ok then, thank you. I have one more question"

Dr Mike: "Yes whats that?"

Miss C: "How long will I have this?"

Dr Mike: "You will have this for about 2 weeks, if this stays longer please come back and see me!"

Miss C: "Ok thank you very much!"

Dr Mike: "You're most welcome!!"

Short Story

I need to include:
- Identical twins
- A party invitation
- A locked closet

It was friday morning and two identical twins, Chloe and Bella were throwing a party for their 16th birthday. It was a normal day and the wind was calmly blowing, until.. As the twins were handing out the invitations they came across and interesting looking girl, she had hair as black as night and eyes as blue as the Indian Ocean, she was sitting by herself dazing into the the distance, Chloe and Bella felt sorry for her so they gave her an invitation not knowing who she is.

By now it was friday night, all the guests arrives on time but not, that odd girl, 30 minutes went past, then a hour, but still no sign of that girl. 2 hours later that girl shows up, she went straight into the lounge and sat on the couch and didn't move until she saw a locked closet. She saw a chance and then took it. She steadily walked up to the closet in a ghostly manner, when she was close enough  her eyes turned green and suddenly in a blink of an eye, the inside of the closet was glowing, she opened it and walked in. From that day on no one had never sighted the odd girl.

Kia Kaha

Link to last person

Yesterday in class we had a Kia Kaha lesson with Constable Den on stereotypes, he showed us 2 pictures of random people and we had to fill in the columns above.

Here is some stereotyping:
Real men shave their face.
Females are weaker than boys.
Indian people make curry.
Asian people are good at maths.
Maori people love rugby.

What are 2 good point about having stereotypes?
- Some of them can be positive.
- They are just a opinion and not a fact.

What are 2 bad points about having stereotypes
- They can be used against you.
- Stereotypeing is not always correct.

What are the characteristics of a bully?
Confident bullies who are  physically strong, enjoy aggression, who feel secure and are of average popularity.

Find 3 statistics. Calculate them out to work out how many students in Rimu House they would each affect (Rimu = 120 students)

Create a test of 5 true or false statements from pages 9-11 of this document.

My Birthday Party

In the weekend I had my 13th birthday party, we played Laser Tag! It was one of the best days I have ever had! The party started at 10:45 and slowly but surly everyone started turning up, when everyone was there, we got straight into our first game. All together we played about 10 5min games, my favourite part of the day was when we had a 7min game of free-4-all, it was insane! The boys beat all the girls. It was really fun because we had different names when we played, for example, there were cool names like, Mickey Mouse, Nugganaunt, Mad Dog and heaps more.
By the time we played all our games, we were filthy! After our games we went to Bay Fair, you can just imagine the looks we got from the public, and half of us were in our dirty socks (we were playing in socks. When we got to bay fair we had pizza and cake and hung out there until 1:30 :)

I don't think I am going to forget this party anytime soon. It was even better being able to share it with my bestest of friends :) Meila, Zoe, Ella, Danielle, Lucy, Zane, Jayden, Kaidin, Jayden, Jordan and Lochy!

Estuary Run

Next week Rimu is starting a new run. This run is to get our fitness up for cross country.

You will need: Running shoes.
This is where we will be running.

Step 1
Meet out on the steps as a house at 10:20.

Step 2
Walk down the steps that lead to the crossing in groups and wait until the teacher tells you when to go.

Step 3
Run around the field until you get to the cricket nets, when you get the the nets go out the gate, but be careful because there are builders and trucks, so watch out and stay out of danger and keep running to where one of your teaches are and cross the road carefully.

Step 4
Run down the big hill.

Step 5
Watch out you are now going to run through the Estuary. The Estuary is very muddy so be careful and don't slip.

Step 6
Run up the big hill and keep running to where the rest of the house is sitting.

You now know how to do the Estuary run.

Clicker Cards

A new system has started at Tauranga Intermediate, Its called Click Cards. These cards are blue and red and you have to put your name, house and room on them. Every day at the end of the day you get a click on your card if you have been good, but if you are away or if you have been bad you do not get a click on your card. There is also a new system for bad behaviour. First you get a verbal warning, then your name on the board, then if you keep being bad you get a cross next to your name and then you do NOT get a click. On every card there are 40 clicks if you fill up your card you get a band, your band is the colour of your house, you can get up to 3 bands. Once you have all 3 bands you and get a STARS badge. There is also new cards that you can get in lunch time for good deeds. If you get one of these you take it to the library and put in in your house box. At House Hui 2 cards will be drawn out and each term at assembly the 2 cards that were drawn out at Hui will be put in a hat and then be drawn out to get a cool hoodie.
