Is the book disappearing?

When was the last time you read a book? Studies show that 75% of people prefer reading off a screen than off paper, this understandable considering this day and age. In rm 42 9/31 students have read at least one book on a kindle or off ebooks. When researching it came up several times that it is convincing cheaper to pay for an online book than it is to pay for a book from the shop. In addition to that, it is proven that authors write their stories on computers and then print them, so just think how much easier it would be for the authors if they didn't even have to print their writing. Printing books isn't exactly a cheap business either. In the USA they cut down 30million trees a year. The thing is that there is only a 50/50 difference, by that I mean that if we stick to using books then we keep cutting down trees, but if we use kindles and eBooks we are increasing the radiation.

In conclusion, I think personally think that switching to technology is a good idea, even though there is a 50/50 difference. What do you think?
